1997 Dodge three quarter ton with fancy touring/cruising conversion and versatile rear entry mobility conversion
MILES 23,000 (actual, Carfax-verified, real miles!)
Price: $14,500

General Description
Began as a three quarter ton, standard length (not long or short) model with very capable 5.9 liter V8 and auto with overdrive. In addition to the very extensive touring/cruising features listed below, this has common power and convenience features and factory items such as: power windows, lock and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; chrome wheels; intermittent wipers; tinted glass; and more

Touring/cruising conversion features
This is one of the most fancy conversions I have ever seen. As such, it has a very long list of cosmetic and functional items added, such as: moderately tall, contoured roof; running boards with steps and wheel flares; rear tire rack; sturdy rear ladder with rooftop storage area and securement bars; very attractive exterior graphics; fancy bumpers and other exterior trim; large windows with vents and screens; leather front seats with power on drivers side; much real wood trim inside; many storage bins; upgraded interior trim; much custom lighting; upgraded stereo; front area console and storage; much more

Mobility and Adaptive Features
This was converted when it was a few years old into being a wheelchair van. Those features, plus ones added by me, will result in the following, extensive package of mobility features:

* Ricon lift: this has a nifty split-folding platform which allows passage of able-bodied folks in and out when lift is stowed, unlike nearly all other rear entry wheelchair vans. This lift is super easy to operate, with a cord that has simple control switches on the end of it. We were amazed when inspecting this lift, because it appears to have had very little use. It appears, feels and functions nearly like new

* New floor is a super enhancement: a puzzle in the 10 years I have specialized in rejuvenating and improving wheelchair vans, is that I wonder why more wheelchair van creators and owners don't have such a feature as is now added to this van. Although most folks tend to think of a floor in a van as being flat and level from the factory, it is actually far from it, and that results in a terrible surface to move a wheelchair van on. You see, under the factory carpet in a common van, there is a thick carpet pad and under that is, to one degree or another, a lumpy, bumpy, uneven metal floor surface, due to the structural design of the metal floor. All of what I describe here results in a surface that is not nice to maneuver a wheelchair on. And there are misc unpleasant elements to live with. The diameter of wheels on most wheelchairs help to overcome these facts, but the usual floors are far from ideal. And so we solve that here. In the area that the chair's will be moving, a specialist removed whatever materials were above the metal floor surface. And they installed quality plywood over the metal, to create a smooth, solid, level surface. (plus the floor becomes quieter). And then a nice material was put over the wood for cosmetic benefit. In this van, we used high-grade very short-nap carpet material. Once you have maneuvered your wheelchair on a floor like this, you would never want anything less.

* Removable middle row seats: there are two captains chairs with armrests that are modular, in that they can stay or be removed. You could keep one or both or neither in their locations. (in these photos you can see the one along the drivers side area, but not the passenger side seat, only because it was not available at the time photos were taken)

* Anchor points for wheelchair: there are 4 anchor points toward the rear, where the prior owner was parking their wheelchair. Such anchor points can be fairly easily moved to wherever you need to anchor your chair or scooter.

* Anchor straps: will include 4 anchor straps, for securing wheelchair or scooter.

Note
Note: this body style was available through 2003, virtually unchanged for many years. This one could easily pass for being half its actual age! Yes, it has 23,000 actual, documented, true miles. As you see in the photos, it is a very attractive, fancy van. In addition to the very outrageous miles, it is rare because there are extremely few rear entry full size wheelchair vans that are not the long body monsters that have had hard commercial use.

Preliminary Photos

Please consider these are "preliminary" photos and as such, they typically show the van in early stages of our transformation process. As a result you may see various flaws, which will be remedied prior to sale.

This photo shows one seat in middle of van. There are actually two, but one was not installed in this photo. Either or both can stay or go, quite easily.

This lift is in nearly like-new condition

Rear entry, personal use mobility vans (most rear entry are long body, ugly vans used commercially and worked hard nearly every day) such as this are rare.

Wow, check out this amazing interior

Has very flexible area in the rear and middle of the van. This floor area is designed to be used in a variety of configurations.
Summary
If you have read this and looked at the photos and you say to yourself, wow, this is something unique in this price range of wheelchair van…you are very correct. Please understand that this van not only has very low miles, but it appears, drives and functions at a level that is quite impressive and exceptional.

Special note
*** Due to the obsolete nature of any custom audio and video features in this van, those items will not be assured to operate correctly. However, factory stereo in the dash will operate fine.

Status
Rejuvenation has begun: I have recently acquired this van and the extensive rejuvenation process has begun, which is carried-out by various professional shops and specialists. Dear Rick... I want to take this time to let you know how excited I am about the 95 Ford camping van that I bought from you. I just love it!! I truly appreciated your kindness, patience and understanding throughout the whole process. I also appreciate the quality of the van. You were nothing like those typical car salesman. You were friendly, cheerful and not pushy....and still gave me a great deal!!! I will certainly send folks your way.

Thanks again!
