Mobility and Adaptive Features
When new this received a mobility conversion from a large, nationally known company named Freedom Motors. These folks are credited with being the first manufacturer/convertor of rear entry mobility-access minivans in the United States, which was in 1987. If you have never seen a rear entry lowered floor minivan, it may be hard to understand how they appear and operate, because it is quite different than the much more common side entry lowered floor vans. You can see similar rear entry vans in the archive area at the bottom section of my vans for sale page. This vans mobility conversion includes:

* Rear floor area has been deeply lowered/channeled in a sloping fashion, which creates very generous entry clearance and interior headroom for person in wheelchair. At the rear of the van the floor is about 18 inches lower than a common van. This, combined with the ramp, creates the ability to roll a wheelchair into the van and park the wheelchair (or scooter) toward the rear of the van. There is a very accommodating 5 feet of space from the rear hatch to the ledge that is directly behind the middle row seat. This allows for parking even the longest wheelchairs (with or without an occupant) or scooters.

* Manual ramp made of aluminum. This is not heavy and is easy to operate, even for folks who are not very strong or coordinated. It has a spring-assist device to make raising and lowering very easy. When not in use, this ramp rests in a space immediately in front of the rear hatch.

* Has maximum ability to carry 5 total seated/belted passengers, plus a person in a wheelchair.

* Several anchor point locations in the channel area, creates choices as to exactly where to park the wheelchair.

NOTE: conversions with manual rear door and manual ramp such as this are very common in taxis and commercial use, as they are very foolproof, have zero motors, electronics or complicated elements to possibly break or cause problems. They are virtually 100% reliable and dependable, whereas the common power conversions, either side or rear entry, can be glitchy when they are more than a few years old. The great news about this van is that although it has this reliable, easy to use package often found on taxis, it has not had that sort of harsh use. It has had a private, family-use history and so it has not been abused or over-used.

Preliminary Photos

Please consider these are "preliminary" photos and as such, they typically show the van in early stages of our transformation process. As a result you may see various flaws, which will be remedied prior to sale.

Super clean and sharp

Appears very similar to a common van with ramp stowed

Wide ramp accommodates most wheelchairs and long ramp creates gentle angle for going in and out

This space is sufficient to accommodate even long scooters or power wheelchairs with leg extensions

Middle and front of van are unaltered, everything is same as a common van

Ramp stows easily and with no tools or controls
Summary
This is a super mobility-van solution for folks who often have several passengers, plus a person in a wheelchair or scooter. It is very easy, exactly as with an unmodified van, for up to 5 people to hop in and out and come and go. A great fact about this van is that when not carrying a wheelchair or scooter, it appears, feels and functions virtually the same as a common, unmodified van. But when you need or want to carry a wheelchair or scooter, it is always ready to go, and easy to use.

Dear Rick... I want to take this time to let you know how excited I am about the 95 Ford camping van that I bought from you. I just love it!! I truly appreciated your kindness, patience and understanding throughout the whole process. I also appreciate the quality of the van. You were nothing like those typical car salesman. You were friendly, cheerful and not pushy....and still gave me a great deal!!! I will certainly send folks your way.

Thanks again!
