2005 Ford has top quality Nor-Cal mobility conversion with super entry clearance and interior headroom as a result of the most deeply lowered floor possible. MILES 31,000 (total, actual miles) Price: 21,900 SPECIAL NOTE This van has 56 inches of entry clearance, at the lowest point along the side of the van when entering! This is similar to a typical wheelchair van that has a moderately tall roof PLUS tall doors! This amazing dimension is due to the floor being what is called the "Nor-Cal MAX" lowered floor. Generally, it is understood in the industry that 8 inches is the deepest lowered floor possible on a Ford (it is not possible for any other brand of full size van to have any a lowered floor, period) but this floor has been lowered nearly 10 inches! WoW! General Description This began is a 1 ton (e350) standard length (not long or short) with nice trim level of XLT. As a result it began with common power, convenience and cosmetic features such as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt and cruise; chrome bumpers and fancy headlights; misc interior and exterior trim features; much more. This has the famously strong, reliable and reasonably economical 5.4 liter Triton motor with automatic. Positive Note about 1-ton vans: If you had ever driven a one ton truck or van in the "old days", or "back in the day", as some folks now say, you may recall a ride quality that was...not much in the realm of quality! Well, things have changed very much in the past couple of decades. I personally have driven this van on the same day as driving a half ton Ford of similar year, and there is actually not a lot of difference in how they feel. The fact is, there is less difference between this one ton and a half ton than there was between a half and three quarter ton years ago. This is due to better shocks, improved bushings, better tires, smarter coil and leaf spring engineering, etcetera. Therefore, with a fairly modern one ton such as this, you get the many benefits of a one ton (better towing, larger brakes, certain motor and trans qualities, more cooling capacity, etc) without having noticeably negative ride and handling qualities. Conversion Note: A decades-old company in Northern California called NorCal converted this van when it was brand new, as is their standard process. This company is widely known throughout the west as being possibly the best national convertor in every way regarding engineering, design, materials, and quality workmanship. You might consider that it essentially received two conversions, one being cosmetic and the other being its very extensive package of mobility features. Here is a summary description of those two packages: Van Features In addition to the nice level of XLT features, this has a long list of added comfort, function and appearance items, such as: ford alloy wheels; Ford 6 disc CD stereo with extra audio features; heavy-duty rear ventilation; moderately dark tinted windows; contoured fiberglass running boards and wheel opening flares; fancy rear spare carrier; venting side and rear windows; Ford power seat with extensive functions; quick-release removable rear seat; extra lighting inside; extensive ventilation ducts throughout; towing system; custom graphics/striping; wood-grain trim in dash and console areas. Mobility and Adaptive Features During the many years that I have been a dealer of used wheelchair vans, there have been many Nor-Cal vans in my inventory and I have seen and experienced many more. I will say that in my opinion this conversion rivals those done by world-leader Braun and surpasses a wonderful east coast company named Rollx. You see, in this industry I see conversions from all sorts of companies, big and small. When it comes to full size mobility vans small, low volume, independent companies that are local to the buyer convert most, possibly 70 percent. Those conversions are usually suitably good enough quality, although there is a big variance from one independent convertor to another. However, vans such as this, which have been converted by a volume company that has invested greatly into design, engineering and systems and procedures, produces a mobility van of noticeably higher quality than the small, local, independent shops. This surely does not mean that those 70% of vans that are not built by the large companies are bad vans, not at all, however...a van like this one stands above those independently converted vans. Here is a summary of the mobility features of this van: * Deeply lowered floor: extends all the way from in front of the rear seat, all the way to below the dash area. Because of this extra-special floor, this van is called a NorCal MAX. MAX refers to the fact that the standard lowered floor is either adjusted 4, 6, or 8 inches, but this one is lowered nearly 10! This very deeply lowered floor creates a super amount of entry clearance and interior headroom, without the need for a tall roof. In this case, you get the best of both worlds. Because, you have only a few inches less interior headroom than a van that has an added tall roof and similar entry clearance as most tall roof van that have what are called tall doors. But very notably, this van can go places that the tall roof vans cant, such as: fast food drive-thrus; parking garages; carports; carwashes; etc. For some folks, these are MAJOR advantages (or necessities) of not having a tall roof. Plus there are more benefits to this type of van such as: less wind noise; better MPG; better handling due lower center of gravity, etc. * Both front seats are removable: therefore, if a person wants or needs to drive from a wheelchair or park one in the front passenger area * Best lift ever...UVL: this van has what I consider to be my favorite piece of mobility equipment ever created. This UVL (under vehicle lift) is so amazing and wonderful to live with, for several reasons: stows fully under the van and so there is zero impedance or blockage of the entry/exit to the side of the van; has 800 pound capacity, which far exceeds the norm for other style lifts, which is usually 600 lbs; because it is not inside the van when driving, there are no rattles or squeaks to be heard when driving, as there usually is with other style of lifts. This particular model is the more deluxe version of a UVL, which has larger flaps on the lift platform to use when loading and unloading, which makes the process safer and smoother. This has the widest possible platform as well.
A new van with this level of features has a current cost of about $65,000. With this level of features and amazingly low miles, this van is quite an alternative to a new van, or a used one for a much higher price than this one and likely it wouldn't have fewer miles. As with each of our vans, following our extensive rejuvenation process, this will be in stellar functional and cosmetic condition when it is ready for sale. And finally...it will include a valuable warranty. Status Rejuvenation has begun: I have recently acquired this van and the extensive rejuvenation process has begun, which is carried-out by various professional shops and specialists. If you are interested in securing this van for your future purchase (many of my vans are spoken for in this way prior to completion of rejuvenation) please feel free to call or mail me with any questions |

NOTE: I am always searching for more vans which are a nice addition to the mix of vans we have to offer. I will post initial information here about each van as I purchase, transform, and then make them available for sale. From the time I purchase a van until my transformation process is completed, averages approximately 4-6 weeks. Please visit this page periodically. Thank you, Rick |
