Options and Equipment THE VAN: Rarest and most desirable of Fords: Chateau model, which less than 1% of all Ford E150 vans are. 1/2 ton with 5.4 V8, auto with Overdrive and virtually every feature which Ford vans may have. Of course, it has common power and convenience features of windows, locks, cruise, windows, and much more. In the space below, I list much of what the Chateau package includes. THE GOODIES: Chateau includes: two-tone paint, special striping; dark windows; dual heat and A/C with many overhead vents; additional lighting and 12 volt outlets; factory running boards; dual bucket seats in the rear; side windows which vent; extra goodies such as temperature and compass; power drivers seat including power lumbar; upgraded high-power C.D. stereo; rear spare tire carrier; upgraded bumpers; deluxe upholstery; factory alloy wheels; leather steering wheel...and more. It also has a tow package, extra step for getting into rear of van, front rock guard and rain deflectors for front windows. MOBILITY: NOTE: was converted in 2005 and has had little use and as such, the features are nearly as-new * Lowered floor: accommodates most users needs as it creates several extra inches of clearance and headroom. This extra height also adds to the comfort of an attendant or additional passengers moving around inside. As you see in the photos, not only is this floor lowered, but it is done in such a way to create a smooth transition if you want to park a wheelchair in the front passenger area. * Braun lift with automatic Tri-Fold platform: wonderful feature. Folding into three parts happens automatically as the lift is lowered to floor level. The folded platform allows for easy movement of passengers in and out, even when the lift is stowed. This lift has had very little use and is in almost new condition. * EZ-Loc electronic docking station: currently is positioned to accommodate parking a wheelchair in the front passenger area, but could be moved (by a professional of your choice) to a different location. It also serves double-duty as the mechanism which anchors the original passenger seat, which has a special wheeled base on it. So you have a choice: easily remove the front seat (roll it away and leave it in the van or roll it into your garage) to park a wheelchair, or use the front seat in its originally intended way. Dimensions, capacity and specifications: Please feel free to email or call me with any such questions. I will gladly assist with anything you wish to know. I have discovered that due to the unique way each person evaluates, measures and expresses their needs, I can be most helpful regarding this subject if we communicate directly. History of Ownership Has had two retired owners. The first was in the Napa Valley area of California. They used it to drive between Napa and San Francisco and therefore most of the first apx. 50,000 miles was easy highway driving. The man I bought it from lives in Roseburg and acquired it so that the final few years of his wife's life could be as comfortable as possible, with a high level of vehicular mobility.
History of Care It has had exceptional care. The past several years of that care is indicated on the Carfax report as having been performed by the Ford dealer (the best and most expensive source for care) in Roseburg. Each of my vans receives a detailed (about 75 items) inspection by the general mechanic shop which I consider to be the finest in my area. Then, after discussing their report, I have them do what is needed to repair, replace or service items on the vehicle in order to reach my high standard of overall mechanical condition. And in case you may wonder, their process on each van does include an oil, lube and filter service. The aforementioned inspection, repair and service process is a major and very valuable element of my "Rick's rejuvenated" process. In addition: as part of my 'Rick's rejuvenated'' process, each mobility/adaptive component is inspected, serviced, adjusted and repaired (if needed) by a different mechanic, who owns the premium company in this area which exclusively cares for wheelchair vans.
Carfax Report
Summary Nothing negative or derogatory on the report You Might Like To Know... * Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars. Summary of this Gem Super-loaded Château model, which fewer than 1% of all Ford full size vans are. LOWERED FLOOR and other mobility features were new in 2005. This van is so comfortable, stylish, highly equipped and easy to drive...it does not feel or look like what most folks envision a wheelchair van to be.

I used these
flags to help
make obvious the
lowered floor
which, although
not
significantly
deep, is a
huge benefit
toward
entry/exit
clearance and
interior
headroom (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
Large
platform which
due to minimal
use appears
nearly as new (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
Prior to
being modified,
Ford vans have
the most
headroom of all
brands of
full-size vans
and with a
lowered floor
such as this van
has there is
sufficient
clearance for
most users (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
Another
photo which
indicates the
fact that this
van does have a
nice amount of
headroom (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
The floor is
lowered entirely
to the dash area
which allows for
parking
wheelchair in
passenger area (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
Notice
comfortable
amount of
headroom if
using the
original seat is
desired (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
This van has
rear bucket
seats which are
very rare and
desirable. This
photo also
indicates the 4
inch dropped
floor (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
The floor is
lowered with a
smooth
transition up to
the passenger
side dash area.
Notice there are
large wheels
underneath the
passenger seat
which allow it
to easily be
removed should a
person want to
park their
wheelchair in
that approximate
area (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
This floor
is lowered and
sloped slightly
toward the entry
area. Due to
this
modification
this van has
approximately 5
inches of extra
entry/exit
clearance in
comparison to an
unmodified van (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
If you look
closely, this
photo indicates
the nearly new
condition of the
lift. The paint
on the platform
is virtually
unmarred and
nearly as new. (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |

Notable
features of this
rare and
desirable
Chateau model:
factory dark
windows;
two-tone paint
with factory
striping; alloy
wheels; running
boards installed
at the factory;
fancy rear spare
tire carrier;
and more (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |

One of the
optional items
which is part of
the Chateau
package is this
highly
adjustable
driver seat
which is
controlled by
various electric
switches
Note: if you
look closely you
will notice to
the left of the
steering column
is the control
unit for the
electronic
docking station |
|
As described
in the written
material a large
percentage of
these miles have
been easy
highway driving (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
This photo
shows the
factory upgraded
hi-fi CD Stereo
system as well
as the controls
for the front
and rear heat
and air
conditioning (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
This photo is
a good indicator
of the wheel
chassis which
has been added
to the underside
of the factory
seats (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
There are
several things
of note about
this photo: the
platform
automatically
folds into three
sections when
stowed which is
a very desirable
feature allowing
for easy
movement of
passengers in
and out of the
van; if you were
to compare this
photo to the
entry area of an
unmodified floor
you would notice
the fact that
this van has a
notable amount
of extra
clearance
between the
floor and
ceiling; notice
that the lift
appears brand
new (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
When the
switch is
activated the
first thing that
happens is that
the tri-folded
platform
automatically
moves into this
position and
then folds down
to being level
with the floor
(as seen in one
of the photos
above) (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
|
There are
switches on the
arm area of this
lift which allow
for the person
in chair to
raise and lower
themselves if so
desired (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
Optional
rear heat and
air conditioning
provides many
vents as well as
a rear
controller which
is visible next
to the lights
which you see (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
This lift has
very modern
features and
controls which
make operation
of it reliable,
simple and with
versatile
capabilities (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
This
handheld
controller is on
a coiled cord
(approximately 6
feet long) which
allows for
operation from
inside or
outside the van (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
With seat
removed this
electronic
docking station
(nearly $2,000
when new) allows
for simple and
quick parking
and release of
wheelchair
Note: the
specific
placement of
this unit will
likely need to
be adjusted
based on the
specific
wheelchair being
used and desired
position. |
I included
this photo
because it's the
best possible
view of the
original factory
seat with
wheeled chassis
below it (Click on Picture to Enlarge) |
