Options and Equipment

THE VAN:

Started out as a nicely equipped model, which has the famously strong, reliable, and yet relatively fuel thrifty, 4.3 "Vortec" 6 cylinder and automatic with overdrive. This has "all wheel drive" and so anytime you need it, its there ready for you. There is no lever to shift, no buttons to push...when you need that extra traction and control, you have it! Has a nice list of comfort and appearance features inside and out that make it user friendly, comfortable and attractive, such as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; tinted windows; stereo; captains chairs with armrests; alloy wheels; etc.

MOBILITY

Early in its life, this van received the conversion making it into a wheelchair van. Very notably, this has the features that allow some folks in wheelchairs to load, drive and unload, with no assistance. Here are the major components of that conversion:

* Moderately tall roof with front contour: this adds a huge amount of interior headroom and capacity, and the contour helps greatly with reducing wind noise, getting good MPG, and reducing the wind buffeting associated with some tall roofs.

* Tall rear doors and corresponding roof notch: this is a necessity for some folks, as it greatly increases the entry and exit clearance at the edge of the roof. Even if you don't require this, it sure makes going in and out easier for all users, no matter if in wheelchair or not.

* Wonderful lift: this has the two-arm design (versus single arm), which creates a great sense of stability when riding on the platform, and this design is very reliable.

* Power rear doors: this has the special power openers on the rear doors, which allow them to swing open with a button push, from outside or inside the van.

* Custom forward ceiling area: usually in tall roof vans, there is a flat ceiling above the driver and passenger which causes very limited headroom in the front seat area. As you see in the photos, this van has had that forward area designed so that there is no flat ceiling above the front seating and so it has generous headroom in the front. This enables a nice transition from wheelchair to front seat, without headroom being a problem.

* NEWLY ADDED FLOOR SYSTEM: as part of our transformation process, this received the type of special floor we are becoming known for, which eliminates the original carpet and pad, which is on top of a corrugated and thus lumpy, bumpy floor. We added plywood on top of the steel floor, and then added commercial grade vinyl/rubber flooring on top. This created a wonderful, durable, solid, level, smooth surface that is awesome for maneuvering a wheelchair on, and is also very easy to keep clean..

* NEWLY ADDED FLIP AND FOLD SEAT: in order to create a very versatile, flexible interior circumstance, all of the middle and rear seats were removed, and all of the floor hardware that held them as well. Then a special seat was added, as you see in the photos. This seats two people, or it can be flipped up out of the way, only intruding about 12 inches into the interior area when not in use. For a rig that is considered in the minivan class, this has a nice amount of interior space, largely due to this special floor and custom seat project. It doesn't have quite as much interior space as a full size van, but it is close.

History of Ownership

Has had three owners during its life, of apx. equal time and distance.

GOLD-STANDARD

This vehicle meets our very high standard. There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Rejuvenation process. A foundational step of the process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent, third- party service and repair facility. Various professional specialists then perform suggested service, repairs and improvements. The result is your assurance that each of the 76 aspects meets (and very often exceeds) our promised condition level of good, or satisfactory.

Each van does of course have various elements that exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "GOLD STANDARD" program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation. Others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership. As for those, I only list below those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic. I refer to these as "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS". As for this vehicle:

Summary of this Gem

I am happy to offer a special van such as this.  I buy and transform every 4x4 wheelchair van I can get my hands on. This is a very rare, unique and special van, for many reasons. It may be impossible at this time to find even one other 4x4/AWD wheelchair van anywhere near this price, with low miles, that has as many features, overall condition and sharp appearance as this one.
