Highlights of This Van:

$2,400 of new and very recent mechanical service: details below
(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $2,400)

* Can seat 5 people comfortably plus carry person in wheelchair (even a fairly large one)

* Virtually zero care or fuss or potential for repairs needed with this easy to use, lightweight, manual rear hatch and manual rear ramp.

Options and Equipment

THE VAN:

This is a nicely equipped sport model with 3.3 liter V6 and auto with overdrive. It includes such power and convenience features as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; stereo; power rear vents; etc. It also has extra features from the factory such as: rear ventilation; adjustable roof rack; overhead console with features such as MPG, distance to empty, direction, air temperature etc; upgraded interior and exterior trim.

GOODIES:

* Custom seating surfaces are a two-tone pattern (see photos)

* Custom interior trim expands the two-tone appearance, adding visually to the custom seating surfaces (see photos)

MOBILITY and adaptive features:

when new this received a mobility conversion from a large, nationally known company named ATS. This vans mobility conversion includes:

* Rear floor area has been deeply lowered/channeled in a sloping fashion which creates very generous entry clearance and interior headroom for person in wheelchair. At the rear of the van the floor is about 18 inches lower than a common van. This, combined with the ramp, creates the ability to roll a wheelchair into the van and park either toward the rear of the van if you want/need to use the factory middle row seat, thus needing to park the wheelchair in the furthermost rear area. Or, if you want to park the wheelchair more directly behind the front seating area, you can remove the middle row seat (factory bench seat) and roll a wheelchair forward so that it is only 1-2 feet behind the front row of seats (parked much forward, where the middle row seat would otherwise be)

* Manual ramp made of aluminum. This is not heavy and is easy to operate, even for folks who are not very strong or very adept. The ramp simply rests/parks in a space immediately in front of the rear hatch when it is stowed.

* Has the ability to carry 5 total seated/belted passengers, PLUS the person in a wheelchair.

* Several anchor point locations in the channel area, creates several choices as to where to park the wheelchair.

Please feel free to email or call me with any such questions. I will gladly assist with anything you wish to know. I have discovered that due to the unique way each person evaluates, measures and expresses their needs, I can be most helpful regarding this subject if we communicate directly.

History of Ownership:

* Other than its first few months of life, this van has had only two owners, each of similar time frame

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.
Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Here are the new and recent items:

New:

oil pan gasket; airbag service; new rear vent assembly; mobility systems adjustments and service; repair door locks; windshield washer bucket and pump and squirting units; wiper blades; rear hatch struts; radiator hoses; coolant flush; sway bar bushings; service transmission; trans cooler lines;

Recent:
4 tires; front brakes

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items:$2,400
(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $2,400)

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

Nothing notably negative or unusual: no frame damage...no airbags deployed...no structural damage...no "red marks"...no major accident.

You Might Like To Know...

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country and Plymouth Voyager are all cousins to each other and are the same in all material ways.

* 2001 is the first year of a new generation of Dodge Caravan. Therefore, this 2002 is nearly the same as other Caravans through 2007.

Summary of this Gem

I often hear from folks who want to buy a modern wheelchair van in Certified condition in a certain price range such as this. I also hear from folks who for various reasons like the idea of what a rear entry van offers. This van fits a sweet spot that not many vans fit into.
