Options and Equipment

THE VAN:

* This began as a "Grand" (longer body, as all wheelchair conversion vans are) Caravan with the optional of the V6 motors available in this year, which is the 3.8. Because this is the upper-level EX model, it has higher than usual level of features: in addition to common power and convenience items such as power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt wheel and cruise control, it has upgraded, optional features such as: rear ventilation; factory alloy wheels; tinted windows; power drivers seat; power rear hatch, upgraded interior and exterior trim, and more

GOODIES:

* (will have) custom pin-stripes/graphics; (recently added) Sony stereo with Bluetooth capability and accessory port

MOBILITY:

When new, this van was converted by the industry leader, "Braun". The name of the lowered floor conversion package is called an "Entervan". The wonderful, extensive, helpful package of features includes these items: * deeply lowered floor. This lowered area goes all the way from the rear seat to the dash area. This creates generous entry clearance and interior headroom.

* Power ramp out the passenger side door. This ramp is long and wide, allowing for nearly any wheelchair and person to go in and out.

* Power sliding passenger side door. This operates in conjunction with the ramp and the "kneeling " suspension.

* "Kneeling" suspension. This sweet feature causes the van to lower several inches in the rear, which notably reduces the ramp angle, and makes going in and out smoother, easier, safer. Note: a switch allows for turning this feature off, if you don't want to use it, such as for loading directly on and off of a curb or sidewalk.

* Easily removable front seats. In a matter of seconds or minutes you can flip levers and remove or install either of the front seats.

* Has a manually operated swivel mechanism under the front passenger seat. This allows the seat to turn, allowing some folks to transfer in and out of a wheelchair (this seat can be easily removed if desired)

* Many various locations for inserting anchor straps in the floor, for securing a wheelchair. Includes fine anchor straps.

* Mobility conversion functions can be operated either with wireless remote, or via switches in various locations.

* This extensive conversion package includes wireless remote control, for operation of the ramp, door and suspension.

With the exception of one year, this van has had only two owners, all of which have been in Oregon

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here. Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Here are the new and recent items:

New:

tires; lube/oil/filter; fix fuel system evaporative leak; mobility systems service/adjust/lube; rear gate latch system; major trans service and external part

Recent:
front brakes; rear brakes;

Carfax Report Summary

You Might Like To Know...
* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* Dodge Caravan is and always has been a direct cousin to the Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Town & Country. They are virtually the same vans, only with different misc details between them.

* I typically have the vans of the prior body style, which went from 1996-2000. To be frank, this body style van is a bit nicer to live with than the prior. Aside from the fact that most folks would say this vans looks nicer, it also rides better, is quieter, smoother, etc. Of course, it also has a higher value than similarly equipped vans of the prior body style, which I usually sell in the mid-teens.

Summary of this Gem
If you want to step up to this relatively newer body style of such Chrysler corporation vans (2001-2007) this is a great way to do it, for a price that is not much above the value of the prior body style. With wonderfully low miles, this one should have many years of quality life ahead.

2001 is the first year of this newer body style, which is the same through 2007
