Key Note:

Not all wheelchair vans achieve necessary entry room and clearance via having a tall roof, as some folks mistakenly perceive. Rather, vans such as this one appear to be a common van from the outside, but due to the lowered floor have extensive access and capability, beyond a typical van.

Highlights of This Van:

*apx. $2,900 of new and very recent mechanical service: details below (extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $2,900)

* This van truly is in absolutely amazing condition, inside out, top to bottom, functionally and cosmetically. The condition of this special van is in the top couple of percentage points of all vans I have offered, in nearly 9 years.

* The power tri-fold platform zips out of the way with the push of a button, creating generous space for able-bodied folks to go in and out

Options and Equipment

THE VAN: Began as a half ton with the rare "Chateau" package of features. These functional and cosmetic features are on less than 1% of all Fords. Features on this van include, such as: desirable, durable, strong 5.4 liter engine; auto with overdrive; power features such as windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; power seat with extra adjustments; upgraded Ford CD sound system; special rear ventilation is only on this model; upgraded interior and exterior trim only on this model; Ford alloy wheels; rear seat folds flat to a bed; factory two-tone paint; factory tinted windows, only on this model; and much more

MOBILITY:

When brand new this van received a mobility conversion by one of the few national-scale companies that creates such full size vans. Their name is VMI and the conversion is called the "Liberty" package. Below are the primary features of this conversion:

* 6 inch lowered floor: this is in the middle portion of the passenger area and significantly, at the side entry area. This creates enough extra entry clearance and interior headroom to allow most folks in wheelchairs to comfortably enter and exit, with comfortable time in between.

* Braun lift: built by the worlds largest lift manufacturer, this one has the very desirable tri-fold power platform, which when stowed allows able-bodied folks to easily go in and out, unlike solid platform lifts. Just push buttons and this lift unfolds and goes up and down and then folks away after use.

* Smooth, solid, easy-to-roll on custom steel flooring structure with carpet

* Anchor point locations: there are many slots in the front and rear ledges of the lowered floor that accommodate anchor straps for securing the wheelchair

* Anchor straps: Includes 4 quality, easy to use anchor straps

History of Ownership

With the exception of apx. 10,000 miles, this van has had only one owner.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Here are the new and recent items:

New: Lube/oil/filter; wipers; rear axle service; minor adjust and lube lift; new tires

Recent:Front brakes; rear brakes; battery; major lift service; alignment; trans service and filter; slider door handle assembly

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $2,900
(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $2,900)

Carfax Report Summary

Summary of this Gem

Most folks will first focus on the incredibly low miles this van has. Then, many will appreciate the very fancy, rare “Chateau” package from Ford. However, this top-brand of mobility conversion and the features it provides, are possibly the very best fact about this awesome van. Unless of course, stellar overall condition strongly strikes your fancy!
