Options and Equipment

THE VAN:

This white van with tan interior began as a standard length (not long or short) SLT model that has small 5.2 liter V8 and automatic with overdrive. Began with power and convenience features such as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; power drivers seat; CD stereo; chrome bumpers, grill and fancy trim features inside and out and also factory chrome wheels.

GOODIES

Was converted with a very fancy cruising/touring package when new by a major, national custom convertor named "Regency". This included features such as: moderately tall, contoured roof; large fancy side windows; leather seats; power drivers seat; rear seat folds, with power into a bed ; extensive real wood interior trim, such as cabinet doors and overhead pieces; rear ventilation system; extensive storage areas; plus more.

MOBILITY

* Ricon power lift: this has a capacity of 800 pounds (nice...this is max capacity of any lifts available of the era) and has a platform long and wide enough to carry most folks in their wheelchairs. This is a unique model called a Klear-View that has a unique platform that allows for it to be nicely long and it does not block the view out the side doors when stowed.

* Special floor project: this has what is one of my favorite improvements on wheelchair vans, which is very helpful to the person in the wheelchair and able-bodied folks as well. I consider this feature to be an improvement that most wheelchair vans ought to have, old or new. You see, if you pay close attention to how floors typically are in personal use wheelchair vans, you will notice that they are usually not actually solid, smooth and level. Rather, they are somewhat lumpy, bumpy and not as easy to maneuver a wheelchair on as they can be. This is because the factory metal floor of a van is not actually smooth, it has ridges and contours...plus has a carpet pad which wheelchair wheels sink into a bit, creating resistance to maneuvering. Based on my specifications and design, this floor was greatly improved above the original floor treatment by removing the existing carpet and pad and then installing a sheet of wood directly over the lumpy, bumpy, contoured metal floor. And it became a smooth, solid, level floor. And then a quality type of commercial vinyl flooring was used to cover the wood. This material is tough and easy to clean. This van has this new flooring package, which notably improves the interior function of the van for everyone.

* Anchor points for floor: this has 2 anchor point areas in the floor now and will include 2 more anchor points that are ready to be installed by the new owner, in the locations of their choice.

Certified

This vehicle meets our very high standard. There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Rejuvenation process. A foundational step of the process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent, third- party service and repair facility. Various professional specialists then perform suggested service, repairs and improvements. The result is your assurance that each of the 76 aspects meets (and very often exceeds) our promised condition level of good, or satisfactory.

Each van does of course have various elements that exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation. Others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership. As for those, I only list below those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic. I refer to these as "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS". As for this vehicle:

Here are the new and recent items:

New: Rear axle service; clock spring; repair wheelchair pendant; major transmission service; oil/lube/filter; lift service

Recent: 4 Tires

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

Summary of this Gem

This is a very attractive, comfortable and capable van. The Klear-View lift is a special lift that combines function, capacity and the extra side window viewing ability that its design allows is a very nice feature, versus having the side window viewing blocked by the lift.
