Options and Equipment

THE VAN:

This began as a "heavy" 1/2 ton (6700 GVWR) with small 4.6 "Triton" V8 and automatic with overdrive and dual airbags.  It also has: stereo; heavy duty rear step bumper; cloth front captains chairs with armrests; dual-view large side mirrors; tilt wheel; factory trailer towing package

Additions/Conversions:

When converted as a new van (same configuration as when I bought it) there were several custom additions such as: moderately tall, contoured roof; the seam area between roof and side walls is nicely carpeted; there is a large, carpeted storage shelf above the front seat area; has several  custom, high-intensity lights mounted throughout the interior

During the two months I have owned this van, it has had a very major transformation beyond its original form described above.  This includes many appearance and functional items such as: 3 large, tinted windows with vents; extensive custom striping; factory-style body side moldings; fancy wheel covers; brand new interior trim panels on all doors except front; new custom interior side panels (it originally had none); rear wheel-area carpet;

MOBILITY:

* Has what are called tall doors and corresponding roof notch in the rear.  This provides a very generous 57 inches minimum clearance!

* Ricon heavy-duty lift with oversize platform and 800 pound capacity! This lift has been used so little and had such easy use, it appears to be nearly new.

* Floor has thick, solid plywood throughout entire middle and rear area. Covering  that is a textured "rubber" flooring which is great to move wheelchair on, cleans easy, and is tough.

* Contains two very special custom seats, with brand new fabric matching the front seats. These are what we refer to as "flip and fold" seats. They each seat two people, with seatbelts. Their special ability is that each can be flipped in a matter of seconds to vertical position with use of a simple lever. As you see in photos, when folded upward they occupy VERY little interior space.  Due to the benefits of these seats MANY configuration possibilities and choices exist, depending on having one or two or neither of these seats folded up.

* Includes 4 brand new floor anchor points, which are ready for installation in whatever exact location you choose, depending on where you desire to park your wheelchair.

History of Ownership

Has had one owner since new. This was custom built and owned by a surgeon. His nurses used it exclusively for doing pre-op and post-op planning discussions with wheelchair-bound patients who required special transportation. This was infrequent, super clean, very light use. And this van was always stored in the surgeons underground parking area at the hospital...and so, it has been "garaged" since new.

Note: during this vans life with the surgeon it was much lesser equipped and a lot less attractive than it is now, following extensive professional upgrades

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good, or
satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

As for this vehicle, given its modern age and low miles, it of course has not had a need for extensive servicing to be done, however, the following items are brand new or recent:

New: Front brakes; wipers; air filter; alignment; oil and lube; mobility lift service;

Recent: high quality tires;

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $1,500

 (extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $1,500)

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

Nothing notably negative or unusual: no frame damage...no airbags deployed...no structural damage...no "red marks"...no major accident.

You Might Like To Know...

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* Rear entry vans represent only about 10% of all wheelchair vans, and nearly every one of them has had harsh commercial use such as: airport shuttles; cabs; hotels; etc.  AND, nearly all rear entry vans are the extra long body, which most personal/private users don't want.  Therefore, to find a rear entry wheelchair van of standard length such as this one, which has had very easy use is nearly unheard of.

* This full size van has a very respectable EPA/MPG ratings of 15/19...not bad for a super capable van.  That's only a few less than what a wheelchair minivan gets.

* Never smoked in...no pets...no kids...garaged since new...and now, much is fresh and actually BRAND NEW due to my increased conversion of it.

* Nearly every van with HD lift and rear entry has had harsh commercial use, and rarely do they make it onto the used market with low miles. This van is very unusual in this regard, as well as due to its fantastically versatile, capable features.

* I debated a lot about price regarding this van.  I say this because frankly, it is worth far more. This is true because of its modern age, special features, having much that is brand new, and so forth.  However, because I am committed to having vans priced below $20,000 I decided to offer it at this low price...even though this amount represents a real bargain.

Summary of this Gem

This is a very special, incredibly versatile and oh-so capable wheelchair van.  Its condition is so fine...it looks, feels, functions and even smells, as if it were nearly brand new.

Wonderful tall doors and moderately tall roof.  Well suited for many business or personal-use applications.

Shows both seats folded up.  wow, there is a huge amount of free space in here when they are folded up.  Also, notice this special floor, its strong wood with rubber over it, which makes it solid, easy to roll on and super easy to clean.

Wow, check out the interior space.  Do you need spaciousness?  Do you need options for how to use/configure the interior of your wheelchair van?  If so, this van cant be beat in a standard length van.

Large inboard and outboard barrier flaps pop up and down as needed to secure the chair from rolling off.  This lift is the commercial quality version and includes these larger flaps and yellow support bars, as compared to the personal-use intended similar model of lift.

Standard length body (not long or short) has enough interior space for most needs, but pretty easy to operate in tight spaces.
