Highlights of This Van:

Ø  apx. $3,250 of new and very recent mechanical service: details below (extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $3,250)

Ø WOW, this is an incredibly highly-featured minivan.  In fact, it rivals current new vans in regards to options, goodies, comforts, and capabilities

Ø Has an extremely rare special seating feature, please read below.

Options and Equipment

THE VAN: Began as a Town & Country, which is the top level of the Chrysler corporation vans ( includes Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager).  This is the top level of T&C, which is the LXi model, which on a Dodge Caravan is labeled as a "Limited".  Fewer than 1% of all created have these features. This van is the most highly equipped minivan that any company built in its era.  Has the upgraded 3.8 motor with overdrive trans. There's a very long list of features in addition to the common power and convenience features.  The highlights of these extra features are such as:  leather seats; heated drivers seat; fancy 16 inch wheels; upgraded trim features in and out; fog lights; ABS brakes; traction control;  overhead console; fancy "infinity" sound system; tinted windows; custom hand-painted striping; and more

MOBILITY: Was converted when new by IMS, which is a division of the industry giant, Braun. This van has the elements usually found in an extensive minivan mobility conversion, plus an extremely rare extra feature. See below for feature details:

* Power ramp out passenger side door. Ramp is plenty long and wide, allowing for nearly any wheelchair and even large people to go in and out.

* Power sliding passenger side door. This operates along with the ramp and the "kneeling " suspension in unison.

* "Kneeling" suspension. This helpful feature causes the van to lower several inches in the rear, which notably reduces the degrees of angle of the ramp, and makes going in and out smoother, easier and safer.  Note: a switch allows turning this feature off, if you don't want to use it, such as for loading direct on or off of a curb or sidewalk.

* Easily removable drivers seat. Just flip a lever and remove or install. (front passenger seat was removed at some time in history. I had a floor project done in that area to eliminate bolt holes, grooves, various detractors, etc.)

* Many locations for inserting anchor straps in the floor, for securing wheelchair.

* Mobility conversion functions can be operated either with switch on the outside panel of the body, or via switches in various locations inside, or via wireless remote.

* Has a very valuable (apx $5,000 new) feature called a "power turning seat". This allows extreme travel up/down and fore/aft and most importantly, this seat is able to rotate apx 100 degrees. Therefore, folks who have an ability to transfer can move from their wheelchair into this seat and then drive. ( Note: this does not currently have hand controls, but custom installed and adjusted new ones are only apx $1,000)

VERY RARE SPECIAL FEATURE: has a single captains chair in the middle area of the van. A clever capability is that this can be positioned either in the center or toward the drivers side of the floor, depending on the desire of the user. And it can also be removed entirely. Movement of it takes just a minute or two and is done so with a quick release lever. During my years I have only seen this feature in a couple of vans.

History of Ownership

With the exception of about 10,000 miles over a two year period, this was owned by one family in Hollywood.

Certified

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good, or
satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".  As for this vehicle:

Within the past 10,000 miles: lube service; power window service; power lock service; wipers; stereo repair; cooling system service; notable freshening of motor such as gaskets, seals, etc; service power door, ramp, kneeling suspension; transmission service; all 4 tires; rear shock service;

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $3,250

(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $3,250)

Carfax Report Summary

You Might Like To Know...

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.

* Being a Town & Country with LXi features, this is the top-of-the-line of the top-of-the-line of all Chrysler minivans. In fact, it is the most highly equipped minivan possible from the era.

Summary of this Gem

If you want a very special wheelchair van priced in the teens, this one may be impossible to match. With its top level features, incredibly low miles and now being in "Certified' condition...this is a truly exceptional van, by any measure.

Very gentle ramp angle makes going in and out in wheelchair very easy.  Some of the reason for easy angle is due to the "kneeling" suspension which lowers the rear of the van, and in turn, benefits the ramp angle.

VERY rare option (I've only seen this in a van a couple of times) is this middle seat which can be either in the position shown here, or moved to the center, attached into the vacant floor slot you see here.  Seat has quick release lever, which requires little effort and only seconds to operate
