"Certified" Vans Available Soon

Look ahead for these fine gems

1998 Chevy Venture minivan with custom mobility conversion has ultra-versatile functions (please read below)
Only 75,000 miles

General Description

This autumn-tan metallic 6 cylinder minivan has a nice array of power and convenience features such as power windows, locks, mirrors, nice stereo, dual sliding doors, etc.  And it has alloy wheels and other goodies also

Mobility/Adaptive features:

This is a VERY rare and desirable conversion, with mobility features I have literally only seen a couple of times on a lowered floor minivan.

* has deeply lowered floor from rear seat to dash

* wide array of choices throughout van for where to anchor a wheelchair

* removable front seats (can park wheelchair in either front location)

* power sliding passenger side door

* VERY SPECIAL POWER RAMP: This ramp creates the ability for the user to load and unload the wheelchair from EITHER side of the van.  I have only seen a few vans with this ability!  Creates amazing flexibility in order to accommodate ANY parking scenario.

This is such a super feature.

* Kneeling suspension

* VERY SPECIAL SEATING: This has two middle row seats (unlike virtually all other lowered floor minivans) which can easily be removed.  This feature allows a HUGE range of possibilities and locations for carrying several passengers and wheelchair.  (of course, it also has the original rear bench seat).  I have only seen a few lowered floor minivans with this awesome feature of removable middle-row seats!

Summary:   This is a very special minivan wheelchair van, indeed.  And in addition to the extremely rare, valuable and desirable features listed above...it is a Chevy (GM product).  And so, if you don't want a Chrysler product (which make up about 60% of low floor minivans) and you don't want a Ford (about 20% of lowered floor minivans) here is your other choice, which is a Chevy. Such General Motors minivans make up less than 10% of all lowered floor minivans.  The remaining 10% are foreign brands and are usually much more expensive, as you may have observed in the marketplace.

*** Of course, as with each of my vans, it will be in wonderfully rejuvenated cosmetically and functionally , resulting in "Certified" condition, with warranty included.

Approximate Price: Mid-teens

1999 Dodge Grand Caravan with complete Vantage/VMI/Ricon conversion
Miles: 135,000 (see below for positive information about miles, condition and price)

THIS WILL BE "CERTIFIED" AND WILL INCLUDE A WARRANTY

General Description:

This white van with grey interior began as a highly equipped ES model with "sport" package. In addition to common power and convenience features, this includes many options such as: dual heat and A/C; upgraded sound system with CD; factory fog lights; upgraded interior and exterior features; overhead console with trip computer; and more

Mobility/Adaptive features:

It was converted when new by a division of industry giant Ricon, called VMI. This is an acronym for Vantage Mobility Industries. They are possibly the most large and respected of the major convertors. When this was new, they modified it to include these wonderful features:

* deeply lowered floor with extensive locations and variety of anchor points for securing wheelchair

* easily removable front seats allow for parking a wheelchair in either front location

* Power sliding passenger door * kneeling suspension, creates gentler, easier ramp and angle for loading and unloading.

* power ramp with what is called the "gate feature'. This is a simple mechanism which allows for the ramp to be folded outward 90 degrees to allow for easy transition in and out of passengers when lift is stowed.

* Various methods and locations for operating door, ramp and kneeling * Top-notch wheelchair anchoring system

Summary:

Summary: This van was traded to me toward another wheelchair van. Many folks realize that I normally don't have any vans for sale with more than 90k miles. However, I offer this now because it was traded to me and because there are families who say they would like to buy from me but can't afford the value of my low mile, "Certified" vans. This van provides an opportunity for someone to buy a very nice "Certified" van from me at a much more affordable price than I am typically able to offer. There has been approximately $4,500 in recent a fresh repairs, maintenance and service.. plus extensive cosmetic rejuvenation and as a result it will be "Certified", even though it has more miles than my usual vans. Yes, it will be beautiful cosmetically and fantastic functionally, comparable to every other van I sell. However, the price will be 30-40% lower than if it had the level of miles my vans usually have.

Approximate Price:  BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE LOW MILES, ALTHOUGH IT WILL BE "CERTIFIED" COSMETICALLY AND FUNCTIONALLY, MY PRICE WILL BE ONLY $10,900. THIS PRICE INCLUDES MY 6 MONTH/6,000 MILE WARRANTY.

2000 Dodge w/maximum clearance AND weight capacity in a short van!
Miles: 88,000

General Description  This is an ultra-rare combination for a wheelchair van: it began as a full size, short-wheelbase, half-ton with small V8 and overdrive automatic. Due to

the short wheelbase the overall length is virtually the same as a minivan!  It is so easy and comfortable to drive, even in the city or any tight spaces.

Mobility/Adaptive features:

This is an incredibly rare and useful combination of wheelchair access modifications:

* Has a very tall, (contoured, not ugly) roof and very tall side access doors which result in a tie for having the most entry/exit clearance and interior headroom of any personal-use wheelchair van I've ever had. I would estimate that fewer than 2% of all wheelchair vans have this much clearance.

* Was custom built with a very strong (yet unobtrusive) steel safety cage in the ceiling area, which most tall roof vans don't have.

* Windows in the raised roof bring in more light and add a sense of larger interior space.

* Comes with a heavy-duty lift which has an 800 pound weight capacity and has a wide and long platform for easy parking.  Until a couple of years ago this equaled the most weight and size capacity of any lift made. This is similarly rare to the tall roof and doors... less than 2% have this size or capacity of lift.

* Has a variety of anchor points on the floor and comes with nearly new (used only a few times) anchor straps of highest quality and easiest use AND also has lap/shoulder seatbelt system.

Summary:

I often get calls from folks who are at their wits-end trying to find a van with more entry and interior clearance than the usual personal use wheelchair van.  And I also get many calls from folks who need or want a very heavy duty lift with generous parking platform.  This van has both of these very hard to find features.  And the notable bonus is that this is a '"shorty", which is incredibly rare for a wheelchair van.  As with each of my vans it will be "Certified", as a result of its top-level cosmetic and functional rejuvenation.

How rare is a modern, shorty full size van? Ford and Chevy quit making short full size vans in the early-mid 90's and Dodge stopped in about 2003. Therefore, since 2003 there have been zero shorty full size vans built.  And for various reasons very few wheelchair vans were built on short bodies, even when they were available.  And wow, it makes a huge difference in drivability. This actually drives very much like a car and yet it has such extreme capacity/capability.

Approximate Price: mid-teens

Preliminary Photos

A very nice and uncommon feature is the side-light windows in the roof.  This creates added light and visibility, especially for people who have a tall overall height when in their wheelchair

This short-body van is only the length of a typical minivan!  Yet it has a huge amount of headroom and entry/exit clearance

A nice looking, immaculate van.

This is a lift normally only found in large, commercial-duty vans.  It has a giant platform and an 800 pound weight capacity, which is the heaviest in the industry.

When a heavy-duty commercial-grade lift such as this is used for limited personal use...it will almost last 'forever'.  This lift functions and appears not much different than when it was brand new.

Wow, notice how tall that entry area is! And very wide too!

Dear Rick... I want to take this time to let you know how excited I am about the 95 Ford camping van that I bought from you. I just love it!! I truly appreciated your kindness, patience and understanding throughout the whole process. I also appreciate the quality of the van. You were nothing like those typical car salesman. You were friendly, cheerful and not pushy....and still gave me a great deal!!! I will certainly send folks your way.

Thanks again!
