No rust, no rust, no rust:

This van has lived its easy life in the southwest, which folks in-the-know recognize as being the very best place to buy rigs with no rust! The combination of being very dry and no salted roads and not much rain, leads to amazing rust-free rigs, of all types. And so if you are in one of the many part of the united states where rust is a problem...this rig is the one that brings you absolute no-rust peace of mind...

Highlights of this Van:

* Amzing low miles and ideal southwest life (no snow or ice or sale or humidity issues)

* Super entry clearance and interior headroom

* One of the most attractive wheelchairs vans I've had during my 15 years

About this body style:

After decades of mild or moderate changes each few years, final generation of traditional-style Ford vans began in 2008 (interior was not redesigned until 2009) and ended in 2014. In 2015 began the first radically different design of Ford vans in approximately 40 years. Many people don't like the new "Transit" style and frankly, they are not nearly as sturdy and are much more complex to maintain and repair

Note:

Rare to find a nicely tall roof and doors, standard length, Ford wheelchair van that is a half ton (not three quarter or 1 ton). This half ton has the carrying ability you want from a full-size van, but with better ride quality and fuel efficiency of the smaller V8 and lighter weight chassis.

Options and Equipment

This began as an e150 (1/2 ton) with the 4.6-liter, smallish V8. Has desirable XLT level of features, which includes items such as: upgraded interior and exterior trim; power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; chrome bumpers and grill; cloth seats; fancy wheel covers; full gauge package; traction control system. Also has options such as: Sony CD stereo with several speakers and accessory jack; rear ventilation system; special lighting in the middle and rear of ceiling; remove-able rear seat; backup sonar in rear bumper

Very customized appearance package

Special two-tone paint; wide body side moldings with chrome; custom stripes on body and roof compliment the silver/blue paint scheme; dark tinted windows

Note about the desirable length of this van

This is the standard-length ford van. It is not the long or short version. This is the length most users want. Be careful if considering the longer body, as that extra 2 feet of length makes them much harder to park and maneuver. Also, nearly all of the full-size vans with longer body have had harsh commercial/institutional use.

Mobility and Adaptive Features

when new, this was converted by a major company in southern California, named Sunset Vans. The primary mobility features are listed below:

* Ricon lift: This 600-pound capacity lift from the industries second larger manufacturer, is very sweet, for two particular reasons. One is because it has the feature of folding horizontally in the middle, which enables the view to be unimpeded out the passenger side window (most lifts block that visibility). The other great feature of this lift is that due to its folding nature, it enables the lift platform to be longer than most when extended. The wheelchair parking space is 50 inches long and 30 inches wide. This lift is very simple to operate, via the control box that is on the end of a cord, attached to the lift.

* Tall roof: This roof is taller (sweet) than the roofs commonly utilized on personal use wheelchair vans, which usually began as "touring" or "cruising" conversions. As a result, this van has apx 6-8 inches more interior headroom than most personal use wheelchair vans. This is the most desirable roof for a personal use full size wheelchair van. This is because it has the big slope toward the front, which reduces drag and wind noise and gets better MPG than the very box-shaped roofs that are the norm, when they are desirably tall, such as this roof is. This van has a generous 68 inches of interior headroom.

* Tall doors: the notch into the roof and the large added extensions on the top of the side doors, create a wonderful 57 inches of entry clearance, which exceeds 80-90% of full-size wheelchair vans have (even when they have tall doors).

* Awesome floor: this is my favorite type of floor for wheelchair vans. When this van was created, this special floor was installed. It is heavy duty plywood, with a commercial coating on it that makes it tough, easy to clean and durable.

* Anchor points: this has many anchor point locations throughout the mid and rear floor areas, which are mounted flush with the surface of the nice floor. Chose the location for inserting straps that suits your needs ideally

* Anchor straps: includes 4 anchor straps

History of Ownership

with the exception of 4 months in Georgia, this has been in Arizona and California since new. (the southwest is considered by most professionals to be the best region in the united states for vehicles to reside).

About "Certified" level mechanical and cosmetic condition

This vehicle is 'Certified': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Certification process. A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by a talented, thorough, professional mechanic. Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists. The result is your assurance that each of the 76 aspects meets or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory. Each of ours vans does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during our extensive rejuvenation. And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.) Nothing notably negative or unusual. No accident of any kind, not even a minor fender-bender. No airbags deployed...No damage leading to such report notes as salvage, totaled, etc...no "red marks" on the report...no major accident...no lemon history...no odometer tampering…no derogatory remarks on the state-issued title

Summary of this Gem

This one is in a sweet spot, which enables you to get an attractive, nicely modern van, with low miles and super mobility features, at a price that doesn't break the bank. Plus, it's very attractive...
