Manufacturer Note

Scion is a brand within the Toyota family. (such as Lexus is also within the Toyota Family). This scion shares much of the same parts and pieces as some Toyota models. For example, this motor is the same as was in the Toyota Camry for many years.

Fun color...what's it called?

Toyota refers to this modern-Aesthetic color as...Army Rock (and the new two-tone accent color is a rich, complementary color)

Highlights of this cosmetically customized, very unique mobility-access Scion:

* Absolutely sharp, cute, sweet, cool, modern

* Freshly customized, makes this an extra-rare, one-of-a-kind mobility vehicle

* Just because you must travel in a wheelchair, doesn't mean you must be in a van!

Options and Equipment

THE SCION:
Well equipped with power features such as windows, locks and mirrors. Plus tilt/telescope wheel, cruise control, factory installed Pioneer brand CD stereo with accessory jack, multi-function info-computer, etcetera. Has the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder (same as Camry had for many years) and 5 speed manual Transmission. If you want a wheelchair-access vehicle that would be fair to refer to as "sporty" this Scion is it! Part of the sportiness, drivability (IE: much more control on snow and ice) and fun is the result of being a manual transmission.

Plus, this Scion has this brand-new package of custom cosmetic features
* One-of-a-kind two-tone paint scheme

* 17-inch custom wheels and tires

* Rear hatch spoiler added some "sport" to it

* Tinted windows

* Brand new black diamond-tech rubberized flooring in wheelchair area

MOBILITY

When new this Scion received a mobility conversion by one of the national-scale companies that creates wheelchair access vehicles. Their name is Freedom Motors. They have been thriving for several decades, converting mostly vans, but also some other types of vehicles such, as this crossover/SUV. Below are the primary features of this conversion:

* Lowered floor in passenger side area: this area creates enough space for all but notably large wheelchairs. As you see in the photos, it accommodates a power wheelchair suitable for me (6-1 and 300 pounds). There is also enough headroom for me, at 6-1, with a couple of inches free space above my head.

* Manual ramp/loading platform: ingeniously designed, enables navigating the wheelchair in and out pretty easily. Heavy duty, easily handling me in the power chair you see in the photos (combined weight over 500 pounds)

* Seating flexibility: this includes the original front passenger seat, which has been modified to be able to go in and out, as needed/if needed

* Anchor point locations: there will be 4 anchor points included. They accommodate anchor straps for securing the wheelchair.

* Anchor straps: will Include 4 quality, easy to use anchor straps

Feel free to ask any questions about this extremely unique mobility-access vehicle. I understand that you likely have never seen anything such as this rig.

Certified

This vehicle is 'Certified': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis Certification process. A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent third- party service and repair facility. Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists. The result is your assurance that each of the 76 aspects meets or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

Each of ours vans does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the “Certified” program assures. Some are brand new improvements performed during our extensive rejuvenation. And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

Nothing notably negative or unusual. No airbags deployed...No damage leading to such report notes as salvage, totaled, etc...no "red marks" on the report...no major accident...no lemon history...no odometer tampering...no derogatory remarks on the state-issued title

* I personally drove this vehicle more than 1,000 miles on highways. I averaged 31 MPG ! This is amazing MPG for a wheelchair-access vehicle.

Summary of this Gem

Most people who need a wheelchair access vehicle assume that they must choose between a full-size van or a minivan. And in the process that person and their family believe they must accept that the days of owning a fun, sporty, aesthetically modern, or cool vehicle are gone! This Scion defies that norm entirely. Plus, it has nice miles and is in our usual 'Certified' level of condition, having undergone extensive cosmetic and functional rejuvenation.
