Options and Equipment

THE VAN: Began as the well-equipped SE model. Has the famously great 3.0 (smallish 6 cylinder) engine, which has a good amount of power and gets decent MPG. This well-equipped SE includes such features as: power windows, locks and mirrors; tilt wheel and cruise control; stereo; rear ventilation; overhead console with features such as MPG, direction indicator, temperature, distance to empty, etc.

custom graphics/striping; dark tinted windows

This was converted by a company called Vision, which is a division of Braun, that is the largest designer, manufacturer and seller of mobility features in the world. Here are the primary features of this conversion:

* power operated rear hatch and ramp: the ramp and hatch work in conjunction with each other. With the push of a remote button or a switch, the hatch goes up or down and the ramp goes up or down, in synchronized fashion.

* deep channel lowered floor: this creates excellent entry clearance and interior headroom. You can park a wheelchair at virtually and sport you choose, from front to rear within the channel.

* extra seating: has two special, single person seats along the sides. There is also a two-person seat that folds down from the side, if you are using the van only for passengers who are not in a wheelchair

* there is a variety of anchor point locations for attaching manual anchor straps

* wireless remote control for operating hatch and ramp

History of Ownership

With the exception of the past 7,000 miles, this has had only two owners since new.

This vehicle is 'CERTIFIED': There are a combined 76 mechanical and cosmetic aspects  included in the Wheelchair Van Oasis "Certification" process.   A foundational step of the rejuvenation process is when each vehicle receives an extensive inspection by an objective, independent  third- party service and repair facility.  Suggested service, repairs and improvements are then performed by various professional specialists.   The  result is your assurance  that each of the 76 aspects  meets  or exceeds the condition level of good, or satisfactory.

For details regarding list of 76 cosmetic and mechanical aspects, please click here.

Each van does of course have various elements which exceed the promised level of good or satisfactory, which the "Certified" program assures.  Some are brand new improvements performed during rejuvenation.  And others are obvious service or repairs performed recently, prior to my ownership.  As for those, I only list here those positives which are certain, based on my either having a receipt, and/or due to being obvious to the inspecting-mechanic.  I refer to these as  "NEW OR RECENTLY SERVICED ASPECTS".

Here are the new and recent items:

Mobility systems service; fuel lines; power window motor; Transmission service; front differential service; lube/oil/filter; wiper

Approximate retail value/cost of above-listed items: $1,300
(extensive investment in cosmetic rejuvenation is in addition to this $1,300

Carfax Report Summary

* Each of my vans has a superb paint sealant as the final step of the extreme detail. If you were to have a professional apply a treatment the cost would be several hundred dollars.
* Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country and Plymouth Voyager are all very close cousins to each other. In fact, they share about 90% of the same parts.

Summary of this Gem

Of course these super low miles are automatically a very desirable feature of this van. And now that it has been highly rejuvenated, this is one heck of a van. And the remote operated hatch and ramp makes loading and unloading so easy and convenient. The icing on the cake is the extra jump seat, in case you want or need to carry as many as 6 total people.
